So, the day after Obama. Quite a nice speach he gave, although American speach writers need to learn how to write speaches for people outside the States. All these big words, these magnificent speaches just make me sceptical about the whole thing. I think people on this side of the Atlantic (well me at least) prefer discreeteness and not this “Greater than God”-approach that American politicians so often show.
Anyhow, still was kinda interesting to listen to what he had to say. According to newspapers today there where ~200 000 spectators at the event. Don’t think that a half term president would draw a crowd as big as this. Not everyone was a supporter though, there where perhaps a half a dussin McCain supporters, not as organized as the Obama team, and maybe somewhat comical (like the umbrella guy, will try and post a pic later).
Went for some beers with T & S and a friend of theirs afterwards. Came home late, discovered I had a fully functioning Internet connection and had to check tonnes of pages
